Daniel Field is one of Britain’s leading hairdressers, and is known as the pioneer of Organic & Mineral Hairdressing. Daniel and his team of researchers have developed unique professional hairdressing products for his salons. These are gentler safer alternatives, which are kinder to hair than the harsher products generally used in traditional salons.

Natural Colour/Water Colour is a breakthrough in hair colouring. It contains no ammonia or peroxide, and has no smell or fumes. It can be used as a Semi, a Demi, or a Permanent colour that lasts as long as you require:
1) Applied to damp hair it is semi-permanent. (Lasts up to 6 washes. No grey coverage.)
2) Applied to well towel-dried hair it lasts up to 21 washes and covers up to 50% grey.
3) Applied to dry hair it is a permanent tint and colours up to 100% grey.
Textured Effects
With Water Colour, the depth of colour can also be finely tuned by how long it is left on. If you have had highlights and want to tone them to a warmer or darker shade, Water Colour can retain the highlighted effect. If you have nature’s own highlights (a percentage of grey or white hair) Water Colour can colour just these hairs creating really beautiful natural lights. Simply choose a shade lighter than your natural base colour.
Colour Correction – Water Colour Breaks the Rules
Water Colour is able to achieve many colouring effects that have in the past been complex, such as colour correction. Should you wish to colour your hair back to your natural colour from previous lightening (hairdressers dread this type of job) it can be done in one simple application! Simply select your target colour and leave it on for 40 minutes (dry hair).
How to Avoid Over-darkening
Because Water Colour contains no peroxide it cannot lighten the hair at all. This means Water Colour will make your hair warmer, or deeper, or both. If your hair is natural brown and you apply the same shade of natural brown Water Colour, your hair will become browner still. If you have any grey hair, choose a shade that is dark enough to colour the grey hair to a ‘blended-in’ effect, but light enough not to turn the natural hair too dark. If you have 30% grey hair or more, colour build-up becomes less of a problem.
Over 30% Grey Hair
If you want to colour your grey back to your original natural colour, choose the shade nearest to your natural colour or as desired.
Neat Root Application Avoids Colour ‘Build-Up’ when using as a permanent
After the first application, it is advisable to apply to the roots only when dealing with re-growth to avoid a build up of colour.

Faded Ends
If the ends are slightly faded or the grey is re-emerging then save the excess colour left after applying to the roots, and put this on the rest of your hair for the last 5 to 10 minutes of the colouring process. This is usually enough without going too dark!
Radiant Tones
Some colours build up far less – these are the Radiant Tones (see colour list). These can be re-applied all over in one application every time.
Allergy or Sensitivity
Water Colour can occasionally cause the head to itch slightly in the most sensitive skin types. This is very unlikely to be an allergy, and should go upon rinsing. Avoid contact with eyes and do not use to colour eyelashes or eyebrows.
Although the gentle developing process of Water Colour does not harm the hair, this product contains phenylenydiamines, which may cause an allergic reaction. Always carry out a sensitivity and strand test 48 hours prior to use. Do not use on a damaged or irritated scalp.
How long do I leave it on?
It is worth noting that blonde shades take less time to colour. Grey hair is more resistant than natural non-grey hair, although pure white hair takes blonde shades easily. If the degree of colour change required is minor you need far less processing time.

Water Colour numbers and shade descriptions are based on 50% grey hair where relevant. NB. 100% grey hair will colour two shades lighter than indicated – e.g. the result of Water Colour No.1 Black applied to 100% grey hair will be dark brown (No. 3). 0% grey will be up to two shades darker than stated –e.g. the result of Water Colour No. 5 Natural Brown applied to natural (No. 5) hair will be dark brown (No. 3).
Daniel Field does not produce a colour chart, as the result of the colour will depend on the starting colour of the hair, the condition of your hair and any previous treatments. Water Colours may be used over other hair colourants but not over colour restorers, metallic dyes and compound henna.

9-Pale natural soft blonde
8- Natural mid blonde

Mid Blondes and Dark Blondes
83 – Mid golden blonde
86 –Light copper golden blonde
7 – Dark blonde
71- Neutral dark ash blonde
76- Dark copper blonde

Radiant Tones
There are 3 rich tones for mousey and brown hair. These are formulated to be used on non-grey hair. They will work on grey hair but will look very bright!
7.43- Sycamore (Radiant golden copper)
77 – Copper beech (Radiant copper)
6.44 Rosewood (Radiant rose red)

Lightest Browns
61- Neutral lightest ash brown (excellent for colouring pre-lightened hair)
6 – Natural lightest brown (excellent for colouring brown hair)
63- Lightest warm brown
64- Lightest red brown
These are ideal for softly blending away up to 30% grey hair on brown hair.

Browns
5 – Natural brown
53- Warm brown (richer than No.5, with more complete grey coverage)
56- Chestnut red brown
5.46-Rich red mahogany (this has a slight violet red tone. Grey hair looks quite red).

Mid Browns
4 –Natural mid brown
43- Warm mid brown
44 –Warmer mid brown
4.6-Burgundy (red violet) – looks pinky on over 30% grey hair.

Dark Browns
3 – Darkest brown
3.6 Bordeaux (violet red) – looks pinky on over 50% grey hair
2 – Ebony (super dark brown)
1 – Black (this is not a true black)

Natural Colours/Water Colours come with full instructions, plastic hat & gloves per colour and one reusable mixing bottle per order.
